It is subject to certain formal requirements, which include not only the wording of a document but also additional elements such as stamps, signatures, additional remarks and other graphical elements being part of the translation. A page of certified translation is defined by the law and amounts to 1125 characters (including spaces). There are no limitations as to type of document or text that may be translated in a certified form. Yet, usually this type of translation applies to documents that need to be submitted at various institutions and offices. Formal requirements for certified translations have been defined in the Act on the Profession of a Sworn Translator of 25th November 2004 and the Code of a Sworn Translator.

Interpreting:
Interpreting can be rendered in a variety of ways, depending on the needs of listeners. Basic methods of interpreting include consecutive, liaison, simultaneous, whispered and a vista interpreting.
In consecutive interpreting the interpreter takes notes, as the source-language speaker makes his/her speech and repeats the message from the notes in the target language, when the speaker pauses or finishes speaking. Even though it is the message not its form that matters most, the interpreter provides faithful translation of such key information as names, numbers, proper names or places. This type of interpreting is usually employed at informal meetings such as working dinners, business negotiations or trips, but sometimes also during conferences.
A vista interpreting means interpreting of written text usually delivered immediately after receiving of the source-language text by the interpreter. The text is to be translated fluently, sentence by sentence, often without possibility to read it in advance and verify its terminology, which may be an additional difficulty. This method of interpreting is usually employed for reading of documents at courts, in notary’s or government offices.
Liaison interpreting involves memorizing and translation of short fragments of speech. The speaker has to make his/her utterances brief or simply speak sentence-by-sentence, as the interpreter has to translate them accurately without making any notes. Cooperation between the speaker and interpreter is essential for fluency and faithfulness of translation. Precision of liaison interpreting is used in courts (during interrogations of witnesses and experts), in situations which don’t allow for taking notes and during practical trainings, when translation is followed by practical presentation of particular activity (e.g. training for machine operators).
Simultaneous (extempore) interpreting involves translation of the source message into target language while the source-language speaker continues his/her speech. This type of interpreting is usually made with the use of electronic equipment (earphones, microphone) and a sound-proof booth. The interpreter can see the speaker but cannot communicate with them directly, which means that he/she cannot ask them to repeat their utterance. Simultaneous interpreters usually work as two-person teams and take turns. Simultaneous interpreting is one of the most demanding types of interpreting and is used in situations in which breaks in speech are not welcome (e.g. during debates or conferences).
Whispered interpreting is a variant of simultaneous interpreting. It is used when a small group of people listens to the speaker (preferably standing/sitting in a circle). The interpreter keeps his/her voice at a low volume and usually doesn’t use any additional equipment (earphones, microphone). This type of interpreting is employed during bilateral meetings or in situations when a small group of listeners doesn’t understand the language of the meeting.
Our team offers professional consecutive, liaison and a vista interpreting services. Detailed arrangements are made for every order to meet the needs of our clients.
