Yes, in practice, certified and sworn translations are the same. Both terms refer to translations made by a sworn translator who certifies their compliance with the original by affixing a seal and signature, thereby authenticating them.
If we want to use a formal term, we will say “certified translation”, while “sworn translation” is a colloquial term that comes from the fact that a sworn translator takes an oath before the Minister of Justice prior to starting the profession.
